Abstract

A tree in forest during growth process use co2 for wood production that this process lead to co2 sequestration. In this research was done valuing forest regarding to carbon sequestration (non direct use value) and wood product (direct use value) in western part of Guilan province in Chafroud area. For this purpose, carbon sequestration amounts in tree and soil sections using photosinthesis and respiration equation and wood products amounts with measuring annual growth were measured. The average carbon emission cost calculated 53$ and the average weithed wood price calculated 417$. After calculating carbon sequestration value and wood products, present value of of two ecosystem fonctions was determined. The results showed that forest capital value from carbon sequestration and wood production was 6572 $.ha-1 and 56500$.ha-1, respectively. There was significant differences between two ecosystem functions (sig.=0.001, t=8.99). According to the results of present research, it is concluded that forest ecosystem regarding two ecosystem function including carbon sequestration and wood production is noticeable, this case forest management decision makers could notice these two functions to use of these funcyions.
