In 2009, in order to establish more professional and specialized journals and according to the terms of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran (Scientific Journals Investigation Council), Iranian Journal of Natural Resources in Iran was divided into four scientific-research journals including "Journal of Natural environment ". The Journal of Natural Environment is publishing quarterly. It publishes papers in Persian with an abstract in English, and the list of references is only published in English.
