Dear Authors, please note that, as of 11 December 2022 (20 Azar 1401), all manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Natural Environment must be accompanied, at the time of submission, by a report indicating the percentage of textual/scientific similarity in order to proceed with the publication process. Manuscripts submitted without a similarity report will not be considered for further processing. Authors are therefore requested to obtain a similarity report from one of the following Iranian systems—IranDoc, Samim Noor, or HamYab—and upload the resulting report together with their manuscript at the time of submission.
Before submitting a manuscript through the journal’s online submission system, authors must first register. To do so, click the “Submit an Article” button located at the upper-right corner of the page and complete the registration process. Authors must enter their complete email address. If an author has previously registered using an email address, the system will not allow the same email address to be registered again. The email address will serve as the author’s username.

For electronic submission, authors should upload the original manuscript in Microsoft Word 2007 format in the designated manuscript file section. The file should preferably be saved in .doc format using a single-word Latin filename (e.g., paper).
Manuscripts that comply with the required formatting guidelines and are considered suitable for peer review will be forwarded directly to the Editor and reviewers. If a manuscript submitted by an author does not pass the initial screening, it will be returned to the author for revision. After correcting the deficiencies, the author must resubmit the revised manuscript and must not submit the previous version as a new manuscript. Manuscripts that do not comply with the required formatting guidelines cannot proceed to peer review or further processing.
Article Processing Fee
According to Regulation No. 40879, dated 24 May 2022 (1401/02/24), issued by the Research Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, an article processing fee (APC) of 700,000 Iranian tomans (7,000,000 Iranian rials) is charged to authors for publication of accepted articles. This fee must be paid online through the journal’s submission system.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
On the first page, only the Persian title, abstract, and keywords should appear. On the final page, only the English title, keywords, and abstract should be included. At the time of submission, authors must also submit a separate file containing an extended abstract of approximately 1,000 words, including the Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion sections.
Font Specifications
Ensure that words in the manuscript are not inadvertently joined together. It is recommended that the manuscript be saved in .doc format and checked carefully for incorrectly concatenated words.
In charts and tables, English words and numerals should not be used, and Persian numerals should be employed. Persian decimal numbers should be separated using the Persian decimal notation rather than a period or comma. Where the use of English decimal numbers is necessary, they should be written using a decimal point.
References at the end of the manuscript should not be numbered.
Figures and charts copied and pasted from other software applications, such as Excel, may become distorted during typesetting. They should therefore be appropriately converted and inserted as images.
Important Instructions
Compliance with the following instructions is mandatory for manuscripts submitted for publication in the scientific Journal of Natural Environment.
1. Article Type
Original research articles related to any of the fields of natural environment identified in the journal’s Aims and Scope, written in Persian and submitted for first publication, will be considered by the journal’s Editorial Board. Review articles are currently not accepted. The maximum length of a manuscript is 16 pages.
2. Manuscript Preparation
General Formatting
Throughout the manuscript, do not add extra spacing before or after headings and paragraphs. This can be adjusted through the Paragraph menu in Microsoft Word.
For the Persian decimal separator, use “/” rather than “.”. To correctly type Persian decimal numbers, for example 750/12, first type 750, then “/”, and then 12 without switching the computer’s typing language from Persian to English.
Title Page
The first page of the manuscript should include the article title and the full names, academic positions, and complete postal addresses of all authors.
The corresponding author must be identified by placing an asterisk () after their surname and another asterisk () at the beginning of their address. The corresponding author’s telephone number, fax number, and email address must also be provided after their postal address.
Each author’s institutional affiliation should be indicated by placing a superscript or corresponding numeral, such as 1, after the author’s surname and the same numeral before the corresponding affiliation/address.
Important: The main manuscript file intended for peer review must not contain author names, affiliations, addresses, or other identifying information.
Abstract
The heading “Abstract” should be used for this section.
The abstract should provide a concise and informative summary of the manuscript, with emphasis on the research problem, methodology, and major findings. It should be approximately 12 lines (about 250 words).
Keywords
Immediately after the phrase “Keywords:”, provide 4–6 keywords describing the subject of the research. A maximum of six keywords should be provided at the end of the abstract.
Introduction
The Introduction should present the research problem, review and synthesize previous studies, and provide a rationale for the research objective. The objective and/or necessity of conducting the study should be stated at the end of the Introduction.
Materials and Methods
This section should describe the materials and equipment used, research procedures, experimental/statistical design, and methods of assessment or evaluation.
Results
All qualitative and quantitative findings obtained from the study should be presented in this section. Where appropriate, results may be categorized into different topics and presented using tables, charts, and figures.
Tables, charts, and figures should be placed immediately after their first citation in the text.
Charts and Maps
Microsoft Excel may be used to prepare charts, which can then be inserted directly into the appropriate location in the Word document.
Do not place borders around charts. Horizontal gridlines generated automatically by Excel should also be removed wherever possible.
Do not add chart titles directly within Excel. Each chart should have a typed caption in the Word document, positioned below the chart, with a period at the end of the caption. Every chart and figure must be referred to in the text using a number, such as Chart 1 or Figure 1.
Charts and images may be prepared in TIFF format and inserted into the manuscript at the appropriate location. TIFF images should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If this resolution does not provide sufficient image quality, a higher resolution should be used. Software such as Universal Document Converter may be used to convert images to TIFF and adjust their resolution.
Authors frequently prepare sampling-location maps by copying images from Google Earth and pasting them into the manuscript. Such images may not provide adequate quality for publication. Instead, a schematic map may be prepared using ArcGIS with the following four characteristics:
The maximum available page area of the journal is 220 × 180 mm. Therefore, the largest figures and charts should not exceed these dimensions where applicable.
Tables
Do not use vertical lines in tables. The line thickness should be 0.5 pt.
Tables should be formatted right-to-left.
The table title/caption should be placed above the table and should not end with a period.
Discussion and Conclusion
The results should be analyzed and discussed in light of the research objectives and findings reported in previous studies. Appropriate conclusions should be drawn, and the author may provide relevant recommendations in this section.
The font and formatting should be the same as those specified for the preceding section. Avoid extensive repetition of the results in this section.
Acknowledgments
Authors are encouraged to briefly acknowledge individuals who contributed to or assisted with the research. Professional or institutional addresses should not be included.
References
Reference Formatting Guidelines for the Journal of Natural Environment
The heading “References” should be written in Times New Roman, 13 pt, Bold.
References should be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt. Scientific names appearing in references should be italicized. Journal titles must be written in full and not abbreviated.
References must be cited both in the text and in the reference list. In-text citations should be presented in parentheses, including the author’s surname and publication year, for example:
For references with more than two authors, only the surname of the first author should be given, followed by et al., for example:
Do not translate references into Persian. For example, do not use a Persian transliteration of the authors’ names in the text.
All references must be written in English and arranged alphabetically according to the authors’ surnames. If several references by the same author are cited, they should be arranged chronologically from the earliest to the most recent publication. Where both single-author and multi-author publications by the same author are included, the single-author publications should be listed first, followed by the multi-author publications arranged alphabetically according to the surnames of the subsequent authors.

If any reference is originally in Persian, the phrase “(in Persian)” should be added at the end of the reference.
